I recently noticed that my cache folder (page and mod_menu) increases in size without stop (+1 GB if not hindered). If i purge expired cache then everything falls back to about 20 Mb and increases to a couple of hundred Mb in a day.
1. Is automatic purging of cache something that was removed recently? I haven't experienced this before when using Joomla! for many years.
2. Any suggestions on how to find out which plugin, component or if its just Joomla that caches all these Mb? Just opening and checking random cached files in administrator/cache/page?
3. Is there any, non extension, solution? Task scheduler? Simple php script for cli I can use with crontab? garbagecron.php is not to be found as stated in https://docs.joomla.org/Purging_expired_cache_files
I use conservative caching, 15 minutes cache time, file caching and empty path to cache folder (so default)
