Extensions for Joomla! 4.x • Re: Any information on K2 for Joomla! 4?

I myself am very cautious, the makers of K2 now promise to fork Joomla and "do it right". While Joomla 4 is absolutely not great destroying the whole add on ecosystem by becoming incompatible, K2 has now left us hanging for more than a year without a message if K2 will ever be supported on Joomla 4. Tons of users have asked and asked and asked and waited and waited AND WAITED, for nothing, no messages, nothing, while the K2 website still claimed that K2 was usable. Yep, just not on a supporte current Joomla version (which is now 4) that is.
I would not trust a person that is such a bad communicator and letting their "customers" hanging. Yes, K2 is free and I'm grateful for all the hard work that went into it. But telling me not to trust Joomla 4 and their developers (joomlaworks claims they will be dead very soon) and trusting a person that has made my life really hard by being silent for a long time, letting me hang with a super important site for me that uses K2 and wondering if I have to migrate back to standard Joomla to do the Joomla 4 upgrade does not inspire trust for the future. I now decided to dump K2, as I need a Joomla site that is running supported code that gets security updates.I trust the Joomla devs much more, so far they have done exactly what they said they would.

As somebody that works a lot with opensource software, I know that forks are hard to pull off, Joomla is a large project, I very much doubt that joomlaworks can pull that off. So will Joomla fail in the future? It might. But would I assume that this wild far fetched and complex fork (including getting the funding for it) will fail? Much more likely. That is just from my experience and my 5 cents.
